Council Hears Update on Citrus Industry Challenges
During the May 22 Plaquemines Parish council meeting, parish government officials held a discussion on the current condition of the citrus industry in the parish. Inviting LSU AG Center citrus specialist and Plaquemines agent Anna Timmerman to speak on this issue, she explained that the main problem currently impacting citrus trees in the parish is something known as “Citrus Greening.”
