Still Game and Coronation Street Actor Made Indecent Images of Kids
Police said forensic checks found illegal images on Potts’ devices, and he was charged with making and distributing categories A, B and C images.
On October 1, former Coronation Street actor Eric Potts appeared at Blackburn Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to producing and distributing indecent images of children.
Lancashire Constabulary launched an investigation in August 2025 after identifying an indecent video uploaded to a file-sharing account, then raided Potts' home in Bacup, Lancashire, to seize electronic devices.
Forensic examination of the devices uncovered 83 indecent images comprising seven Category A, 16 Category B, and 60 Category C files; Potts admitted sharing five images on July 16, 2024.
The 61-year-old actor, who played baker Diggory Compton on the ITV soap, remains on bail and faces sentencing at Burnley Crown Court next month.
Beyond his 50-episode run on Coronation Street, the Scottish-born actor appeared in Brookside, Still Game, and Doctor Who after training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School following studies at Glasgow University.
