Cordele Mayor vetoes vote dissolving BZA

Mayor Wesley Rainey vetoed a recent vote by the Cordele City Commission to dissolve the Board of Zoning Appeals, or BZA. The ordinance dissolving the BZA passed three to one. His decision can still be overridden by a veto. When asked about his reason for the veto, Rainey said the BZA does a lot of work that the public doesn’t see.
