Mario Genz was 53 years old and was in a lagoon north of San José; he was subjected to resuscitation maneuvers for half an hour, but could not save him.
The man would have remained about 30 minutes submerged before being rescued by the emergency bodies, in Río Cuarto de Alajuela.
