Construction Worker Dies at New Denver Broncos Training Facility
A subcontractor was found unresponsive in a confined ceiling area, and the cause of death remains under investigation, officials said.
A construction worker died Monday night at the Denver Broncos Training Facility construction site, authorities reported. The Arapahoe County Sheriff confirmed the individual was found unresponsive in a confined ceiling area by coworkers.
The $175 million Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit project is a 205,000-square-foot facility being built by Turner Construction Company. Construction began in 2024, aiming for completion this summer to consolidate football and business operations.
South Metro Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene at 8:20 p.m. Monday, using tools to access the worker in a confined ceiling area. Despite rescue efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Turner suspended work at the site following the incident. Christopher McFadden, senior VP of global communications for the Broncos, stated the team is "heartbroken" and offering counseling services to those affected.
Scheduled for completion this summer, the facility was intended to consolidate operations before the 2026 NFL season. Whether this death impacts the timeline remains unclear while the ASO continues the active investigation.
