Conservatives propose parental leave EI reforms
The federal Conservatives proposed three employment insurance reforms to make parental leaves more flexible for modern families.
Conservative employment critic Garnett Genuis and three young mother MPs unveiled proposals allowing parents to earn money from childcare without losing benefits and guaranteeing education or training during leave.
Labour Minister Patty Hajdu said she will consider the proposals and is open to changes in parental leave to fit modern times.
Pierre Poilievre was a keynote speaker at the Canada Strong and Free Network conference in Ottawa from May 6-9.
