Kalieb Osborne Leads UConn over Southern Miss 48-20
On Saturday, UConn Quarterback Kalieb Osborne accounted for four touchdowns, leading the Huskies to a dominant 48-20 victory over Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, during their first road game.
Following a 24-point loss to Maryland last week, the Huskies improved to 2-1 after producing 435 total yards and scoring on all four red zone trips while converting 8 of 14 third-down opportunities.
Osborne threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Shamar Porter and rushed for 32 yards, while running back Cyncir Bowers finished with 84 yards on 11 carries, including a 42-yard touchdown run.
Defensively, safety Braedyn Moore created UConn's first takeaway with an interception, while Anas Luqman returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown to stifle the Golden Eagles' offense.
The Huskies travel to Oxford, Ohio, next Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff against Miami University as head coach Jason Candle emphasized efficient execution in all three phases.
