Company with 800 UK car parks falls into administration for a second time this year
PwC partners took control after NCP’s second administration this year, as the car-park operator cited low occupancy, losses and inflexible leases.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, NCP Commercial Services Ltd entered administration with PricewaterhouseCoopers partners Edward Williams, Timothy Andrew Higgins, and David Robert Baxendale appointed as joint administrators.
Owned by Japanese firm Park24, the operator struggled with losses linked to inflexible long-term leases and reduced parking demand following shifts in commuting patterns since Covid-19.
The car park operator, which has operated for 95 years, manages more than 200,000 spaces across more than 800 UK sites; it previously appointed administrators in March 2026, putting 682 jobs at risk.
Administrators have 8 weeks to formulate proposals for creditors to vote on, while a statutory moratorium provides "breathing space" from creditor enforcement actions during restructuring.
NCP's latest insolvency reflects a difficult year for the UK commercial sector, where businesses including Laced, Whitbread, and Wynsors World of Shoes have also entered administration or closed stores.
