Company launches flip phone with no social media to combat smartphones
The Commodore Callback 8020 is a retro flip phone without social media, email, or web browsing, designed to avoid modern smartphone distractions and calling itself the 'not dumb dumbphone' with apps like WhatsApp, maps, and Spotify available.
The phone's exterior features a red digit display inspired by 1970s Commodore calculators.
Commodore's CEO Peri Fractic created the phone to promote presence and reduce phone addiction, inspired by becoming a father.
The Callback 8020 will be sold in five styles, priced from $499.99, including a 24k gold-plated model.
