Commerzbank posts biggest net profit in 15 years
Germany's Commerzbank has today posted its biggest profit in 15 years in 2023, a 55% increase from the previous year, as it benefited from higher interest rates, and the lender said it was aiming for another profit rise in 2024.
Strong customer activity and the evolution of interest rates allowed Commerzbank to achieve a 'robust' net interest margin, German bank said in a statement, noting that revenues grew to 10.5 billion euros in 2023, compared to 9.5 billion euros the previous year.
