- The grand jury reviewed only prosecutors' evidence, with no defence attorneys present, and 12 jurors need only vote probable cause, brought by Lindsey Halligan, a former Trump lawyer.
- Legal and political critics warned the move represents an escalation, and Ms Levinson said, `This is unprecedented, to have the president basically direct his people to indict a specific individual because he's angry at that person`.
- Trump celebrated the indictment on his social media and warned there would be more, writing `JUSTICE IN AMERICA!` and `JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!` on Friday.
