Comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli to stand trial for rape and sex offences
Hardeep Singh Kohli denies the allegations as prosecutors say the case involves five women and offences spanning 2006 to 2022.
Comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli will stand trial starting October 1, 2027, at the High Court in Glasgow after denying 20 charges involving five women.
Prosecutors allege a pattern of abuse spanning 2006 to 2021, including five rape counts and sexual assault charges at locations such as BBC Scotland studios in Glasgow.
The indictment claims Kohli "coerced" a woman into giving him money and engaged in abusive behavior, including forcing her to wear a blindfold during one incident.
Defense advocate Sarah Livingstone entered a not guilty plea and lodged a special defense of consent for several charges; Judge Lord Renucci set the trial duration for eight days.
Kohli remains on bail pending trial, with a further hearing scheduled for September 10, 2026, while proceedings cover allegations spanning 2006 to 2021 on a five-page indictment.
