Officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police have broken up an organized criminal group that was involved in causing collisions involving stolen cars and thus extorting compensation for motor vehicle accidents. On the orders of the Podlasie branch of the National Prosecutor's Office, 12 people were detained.

They deliberately caused collisions involving substitute cars and thus extorted motor insurance compensation. The criminal group involved in such activities was broken up by officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police. Charges were brought against 16 people. The criminals caused losses to insurance companies of no less than PLN 2 million.
