Serbian Prosecutors Accuse President Of 'Unlawful Influence'
Serbia's top corruption and organised crime prosecutors accused the country's president on Tuesday of exerting "unlawful influence" on their investigations, after the right-wing leader unleashed a tirade targeting the judiciary.
The Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime announced that the collegium of that prosecutor's office is pointing out to the public that the President of the Republic has exceeded and abused his powers granted by law and the Constitution and attempted to exert inappropriate and unauthorized influence on this prosecutor's office, commenting on current criminal investigations. On the occasion of the guest appearance and interview of the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, in the program "Ćirilica Milomir Marić", broadcast yesterday on Prva TV, the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime announced that the President made shameless claims in that performance, which, they claim, belittled and criminalized the public prosecutors of this prosecution.
