Coach Dave Canales has positive outlook on Xavier Legette upon return to practice following injury
Canales said Legette is returning from a stinger and remains unlikely to play after catching a walk-off touchdown in Wednesday practice.
On Wednesday, Carolina Panthers Head Coach Dave Canales expressed optimism regarding Receiver Xavier Legette after the wideout returned to practice following an injury sustained earlier in training camp.
Legette suffered a stinger during an Aug. 4 practice session after landing awkwardly on his head and neck, forcing him to miss time while recovering from the injury.
Despite his injury recovery, Legette caught a "walk-off touchdown" from quarterback Bryce Young to conclude Wednesday's practice, demonstrating his speed and ability to play fast.
Although back on the field, Canales indicated Legette is unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, prioritizing his conditioning before full return.
With 84 catches for 860 yards over 31 NFL games, Legette remains confident in his abilities, stating, "I ain't never lost my confidence," regarding his future performance.
