Unlike other parties on the federal ballot, the Green Party candidates in Ottawa weren’t expecting any major wins in this election. Rather, local candidates see it as the beginning of a long, uphill battle.
The co-leader of the Green Party of Canada, Jonathan Pedneault, urged his supporters not to let go, "regardless of the results of the election." At 10:30 p.m., the party had not yet won any seats, according to the first results.
At the dissolution of Parliament, the party had only two elected members in the House of Commons.
