BROWNSTOWN — The town council is scheduled Monday to put the finishing touches on a plan to shift the cost to rent the town’s 66 fire hydrants from Jackson County Water Utility to the 1,110 or so customers of the utility living in town. The town is currently funding those costs to the tune of $68,350 a year, but a ordinance that passed on first reading during the council’s April 7 meeting at town hall could add another $5.26 a month to the water…
