City and airport officials and representatives of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce gathered Thursday to celebrate the new $8.7 million Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Building constructed largely with federal funding.

The main tower at Joplin Regional Airport City officials gathered with Joplin Regional Airport staff and Board Members and Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors to officially open the Airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Building Thursday afternoon.
