Minneapolis Substitute Teacher Charged After Being Caught with Child Sexual Abuse Material
Minneapolis substitute teacher Preston Casey Palmer was arrested on Wednesday at Brackett Field Park for attempting to distribute child sexual abuse material.
His arrest came after a vigilante organization pretending to be a young teenager alerted the police about Palmer’s intentions.
Authorities discovered a total of 18,466 media items sorted into over a thousand directories on Palmer’s phone and have charged him with 14 felony offenses, including possession and solicitation.
At the time he was taken into custody, Palmer admitted to struggling with addiction and recognized that he would face a felony charge and be listed on a registry.
Palmer remains in Hennepin County Jail with bail set at $250,000 and faces court on May 19, while Minneapolis Public Schools emphasized student safety amid the case.
