THUNDER BAY – The agency responsible for residential recycling in the province will likely be operating the recycling depot on Walsh Street, once an agreement with the city is finalized.
Starting January 1, 2026, Toronto's Blue Box recycling program was officially transferred from the city to Ontario, with the provincially designated non-profit organization Circular Materials taking over. However, the new system ran into trouble in its first week, with large-scale missed collections occurring in several communities, sparking strong dissatisfaction among residents.
