Circle Buys Tazapay in $400M All-Stock Deal

  • On Tuesday, Circle Internet Group announced a definitive agreement to acquire Singapore-based payments platform Tazapay, with the deal expected to close in 2027 subject to Monetary Authority of Singapore approval.
  • Circle previously invested in Tazapay during its August 2025 Series B round, which brought total funding to $57.9 million, and the startup serves more than 60 banking and fintech partners across over 100 markets.
  • Tazapay processes more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, with approximately 60% of transactions already including stablecoins, significantly expanding Circle's reach into APAC and emerging markets.
  • Integrating Tazapay increases Circle's capability to "originate and terminate payments globally, near-instant and 24/7," said Irfan Ganchi, Senior Vice President of Payments at Circle, positioning USDC as the default rail for cross-border commerce.
  • Circle's NYSE-traded shares fell more than 2% in Tuesday's premarket activity, though Tazapay customers can expect no disruption to service, pricing, or support as the companies prepare for the 2027 close.
