Wales has the funkiest and most welcoming independent cinema in all of Britain... One of the oldest cinemas in Wales has recently come out on top of all the independent cinemas in Britain. The Magic Lantern in the seaside town of Tywyn at the bottom of Gwynedd was named Cinema of the Year, at the British Independent Cinema Awards in a ceremony in London at the end of 2025.
