MeToo Boys: Investigation opened after a sexual harassment complaint against filmmaker André Téchiné
Actor Francis Renaud accuses director of "touching his hand and telling him he disturbed him," detailed the Évreux public prosecutor, who for now has not retained any "specific criminal qualification".
Director André Téchiné is being investigated for sexual harassment following a complaint by actor Francis Renaud, the Evreux prosecutor's office announced on Sunday, which asked for “the utmost caution”, AFP reports.
56-year-old actor Francis Renaud filed a complaint on Thursday, February 22, against the 80-year-old director, as well as Gérard Moulévrier, a casting director, for sexual assault. The prosecutor of Evreux, who opened an investigation, however calls for "the utmost caution."
Les faits dénoncés par le comédien Francis Renaud à l’encontre du réalisateur André Téchiné pourraient ne pas être qualifiés de harcèlement sexuel. Ils seraient par ailleurs prescrits, selon le parquet d’Evreux.
Under the hashtag #metoogarcons, the actor Francis Renaud accused the director on Friday before filing a complaint against him. He also filed a complaint “against [casting director Gérard] Moulevrier for sexual assault, and against X for death threats”, the Evreux public prosecutor said Sunday.
