Cincinnati advocacy groups host rally/march supporting transgender rights
- On Sunday, the Trans-Empowerment Network and other organizations hosted the 'We Won't Be Erased' rally and march in downtown Cincinnati to celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility on Monday and demand stronger protections for transgender individuals.
- The rally and march were organized in response to growing challenges and a rise in anti-trans bills, including 42 passed nationwide in 2025 targeting areas like healthcare and sports.

- Trans-Empowerment Network leader Jamie James, one of approximately 1.3 million transgender adults in the U.S. , voiced concerns about increasing hostility and the need for allies, stating, “Our goal was just to be seen and heard at a time when we feel like we're not being seen and heard.”
- Dr. Simone Balachandran, a transgender professor at the University of Cincinnati, expressed anxiety over the potential impact of anti-trans policies on campus culture, particularly regarding the removal of DEI and bathroom policies.
