Chris Baghsarian: Police Make Arrests over Alleged Kidnap and Murder

Dawn raids by police in Kenthurst and Castle Hill, Sydney led to the arrest of two men, aged 29 and 24, about 6.30am, with both taken to Riverstone Police Station.
Authorities said Mr Chris Baghsarian, 85, was abducted from his North Ryde home on Feb 13, in a mistaken identity case targeting a relative of a convicted armed robber linked to the Alameddine network.
After canvassing produced new leads, police found human remains on Feb 24 near the Pitt Town golf club area, with about two dozen officers conducting line searches and planning forensic examination and an autopsy.
Authorities expect charges and added that the two arrested men are `assisting police` while investigations continue, and Baghsarian family welcomed the arrests but asked for privacy.
Screenshots circulated online purportedly showed kidnappers demanding AU$50 million, with messages seen by AFP including a 'Dumb dumb error' remark about the wrong victim, police said `that was the figure that was requested`.
