On July 10, the "Notice on Regulating Actor Credits in TV Dramas (Web Dramas)" officially came into effect in mainland China. Actors in TV dramas are no longer allowed to use stage names; instead, their legal names must be used, ordered by the number of strokes. If a stage name is used, it must be indicated as "real name (stage name)." Meng Ziyi has been dubbed "the first person to be suppressed in billing under the new regulations."
