In a recent interview with the Nepali media outlet Kathmandu Post, Nepal's Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal blamed the climate crisis for the disaster. He said, "Nepal's greenhouse gas emissions are very low compared to other major countries in the world. Yet we are paying the price for various crises like rising temperatures in the Himalayas, melting glaciers, and devastating tsunamis in the mountains. These are all due to global climate change."
