Global Times: The More Turbulent the World Becomes, the More Necessary China-Russia Cooperation Appears
Xi and Putin said closer cooperation will add stability as the leaders marked Putin’s 25th visit to China and expanded education ties.
Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded a state visit to China from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, marking his 25th visit coinciding with the 30th anniversary of their strategic partnership.
The two countries achieved deep mutual trust, establishing a new type of major-country relations that transcends traditional alliances while rejecting "small cliques" as a long-term strategic choice.
President Xi and President Putin have met more than 40 times and exchanged over 100 phone calls and letters, providing the strategic guidance that anchors their high-level development.
Within frameworks like the United Nations, BRICS, and the G20, both countries safeguard global interests by advocating dialogue and opposing unilateral sanctions and "long-arm jurisdiction."
More than 150 joint programs enable complementary resource sharing between Chinese and Russian schools, while 15 university alliances now include more than 800 institutions, ensuring long-term partnership resilience.
