Chilliwack golfer storms from behind to win PGA of BC event in Vernon
Stinson earned his second provincial title of the season and the Dick Munn Memorial Trophy after a bogey-free 7-under 65 in the final round.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Kevin Stinson won the 2026 Srixon/Cleveland Golf Club Professional Championship at Vernon Golf and Country Club, firing a bogey-free 7-under-par 65 to secure his first Dick Munn Memorial Trophy.
Trailing by three strokes behind co-leaders Alec Hubert, Sergej Dronov, and Rob Tadey, Stinson closed the gap with four consecutive birdies on holes 11 through 14 to finish at seven-under 137.
Padraic O'Rourke secured second place at 3-under par with a closing 69, while Mark Kitts and Dave Munn shared third at 2-under and Hubert rounded out the top-five at 1-under par following a closing 74.
The win marks Stinson's second provincial Championship title this season, following his PGA Championship victory in August and strengthening his position in the PGA Order of Merit race.
Reflecting on his success, Stinson credited his supportive family for helping him focus on golf, saying, "It's feeling like I know what my next 10 to 20 years is gonna look like.
