An incredible case: In Germering, fraudsters had called to rip off a couple. However, their child answered – and later handed out a huge sum of money at the station.
So-called shock callers captured several thousand euros of cash and high-quality jewelry from a child last Tuesday (10 June) in Germering.
Police are collecting information about the incident and will inform the competent state prosecutor's office of all findings.
With so-called shock calls, fraudsters put potential victims under pressure. In Upper Bavaria, a child has now issued values of more than one hundred thousand euros to unknown people. Because it was afraid of his father.
A child in Germany handed over more than 100,000 euros (2.5 million CZK) in money and jewelry to unknown fraudsters who had previously convinced him over the phone that his father was in danger. The Bavarian police reported this in a press release, warning against similar phone scams. Police and prosecutors from several European countries, including the Czech Republic, have been discussing joint action against them in Berlin in recent days.
