Two indigenous cases have recently been detected in the Hérault and the Var. Anna-Bella Failloux, of the Institut Pasteur, returns for "Liberation" on the presence of the virus in metropolitan France, Mayotte and Réunion, but also on ways to protect it.
Minister Yannick Neuder wants to write "to all the mayors of France" to adapt a strategy for people vulnerable to heat.
This case was detected in the Hérault, while the previous case was reported last week in the Var A new indigenous case of chikungunya, the second in the metropolis since the beginning of the year.
Even if the situation is far from as worrying as in Réunion, the inhabitants of the regions concerned in metropolitan France must nevertheless take some precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.
