With a close participation to the 300 school chess players from seven countries, Temuco hosted the South American Chess School Championship, held between June 30 and July 5, 2025 at the Rufino Bernedo Gymnasium, in an event organized by the Federado National Sports Chess Federation of Chile (AJEFECH) that offered a valuable international showcase for training chess, bringing together young talents from all over Chile and the continent.
The third consecutive edition of the Duraznense Chess Cup was held at the COBUSU Library of the Departmental Intendency of Durazno. The golden preseas were conquered by Quispe (in Sub-13 Female) and Ruiz (Sub-9 Absolute) in the contest that took place for a week in Chile.
The tournament was held for a week in Temuco, Chile, where the national delegation attended with 12 thinkers. In total there were about 300 chess players from several countries.
