- The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall for Alfredo sauce sold in 41 states on Sunday due to potential salmonella contamination linked to a contaminated dry milk powder ingredient.
- On May 6, The Coffee Connexion Co., Inc., based in Lebanon, Tennessee, voluntarily initiated the recall after a supplier recalled the contaminated dry milk powder ingredient used in the product.
- Designated a Class I event on June 4, the FDA warns there is a reasonable probability that exposure to the product could cause serious adverse health consequences or death.
- Consumers who purchased the affected products should not consume them, as salmonella can cause serious, sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly adults and people with weakened immune systems.
