The Department of Justice reported that the Caguas Prosecutor's Office filed charges today against Benito López Rivera, 59, accused of committing lewd acts and abusing two minors, who are allegedly his granddaughters, ages 16 and 12, in the municipality of Caguas.

MAUNABO – Agents of the Puerto Rico Police Negotiate, attached to the Arrest and Extradition Division, filed an arrest warrant against 59-year-old Benito López Rivera, residing in Maunabo, for violations of articles 133 of the Puerto Rico Penal Code (misleading acts) and 53B of the Law for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Protection. The order was issued by Judge Yarissa Santiago San Antonio of the Caguas Court with a bond of $100,000.
The suspect was a fugitive after allegedly committing the acts between October 2023 and March 2025, and was formally charged by the Caguas Prosecutor's Office.
