National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin announced that compulsory education could be shortened to less than 12 years. Tekin noted that this timeframe is being reevaluated with advancements in technology and easier access to information, and added that a report will be presented to the President.
Regarding the change to the 4+4+4 compulsory education system, National Education Minister Tekin said, "We have currently prepared a report. We will present it to the President for approval at the Cabinet Meeting. If a political decision is made on this matter, we have various alternatives. We are most likely planning to make a presentation on this at the first Cabinet Meeting. A decision will be made within this year."
