HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, JUL 16 – CenterPoint Energy monitors Invest 93L, a low-pressure system with a low chance of tropical storm development that may bring heavy rain and flash flooding to the northern Gulf Coast.
- In Houston on July 15, 2025, CenterPoint Energy's Meteorology, Emergency Planning & Response and Electric Operations teams are monitoring Invest 93L offshore Florida.
- According to current weather models, the system could develop into a tropical depression or low-end storm before end-of-week landfall in Central or Western Louisiana, although hostile upper-level winds are inhibiting organization.
- Rain and localized flash flooding are possible in the Greater Houston area on Friday and Saturday, and residents are encouraged to sign up for Power Alert Service for timely updates.
