The Lithuanian Human Rights Center criticizes an event in Šilutė, during which people dressed as black people. A group of people dressed from head to toe in black, imitating black people, became part of the fish cooking championship event.
On September 5th, pots of fish stew were steaming in Šilutė, and around one of them, a team of chefs dressed in black costumes and depicting black women danced. This performance did not go unnoticed not only by the participants of the festival, but also by the Lithuanian Human Rights Center.
The 18th International Fish Cooking Championship in Šilutė was not without scandal. One of the performances at the event, held on September 5, which featured black people, drew criticism from human rights activists.
