Cédric Bakambu converts a PK in stoppage time as San Diego ties the Sounders 2-2
Cédric Bakambu’s fifth goal of the season came on a rebound after a saved penalty, and San Diego FC has been awarded 12 spot kicks this year.
On Saturday, Cédric Bakambu scored two second-half goals, including a stoppage-time penalty kick, to help San Diego FC tie the Seattle Sounders 2-2.
Two goals scored five minutes apart gave Seattle a commanding lead in the second half, with substitute Sebastian Gomez scoring one before San Diego pulled within 2-1 in the 60th minute.
After Seattle goalkeeper Andrew Thomas blocked a penalty kick by Anders Dreyer, Bakambu knocked in the rebound for his fifth goal, contributing to San Diego's league-leading 12 penalties this season.
The draw leaves San Diego with draws in three straight games and five of six, while Seattle remains winless in its last three matches.
Houston will visit Seattle for a home match on Wednesday, while San Diego travels to face Vancouver on the same day.
