SANDUSKY, OH -- Nearly five years after a Michigan woman was injured by a piece of falling debris at Cedar Point, a guest says they nearly suffered the same fate last weekend. A video posted by a guest on Sunday, June 21, shows a giant metal washer that appears to have fallen from the Magnum XL-200 coaster.

Cedar Point has confirmed that a small part was dislodged from one of its coasters Sunday afternoon, leading to a short closure of the ride.

“As a precaution, the ride was temporarily closed for a thorough inspection and it reopened once the inspection was complete,” spokesperson Tony Clark said.
