SHERIFF'S BEAT May 13-15, 2025: Deputies say man with drugs fled from them

While attempting to perform a welfare check May 2, deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect who fled authorities and was purportedly in possession of drugs.

CCSO, SWAT make arrests during drug warrant search

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) executed a narcotic search warrant Tuesday, May 13 at 6:40 a.m. at 218B Action Street in Newport in response to receiving numerous complaints about drug trafficking and other criminal complaints.

On Friday, May 9th, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence to serve a probation warrant on a male subject. Upon arrival, deputies met with the father of the subject in the front yard. The father then led the deputies inside of the residence where the subject was located.
