Cattle futures mixed, lean hogs closed lower

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live  and feeder cattle futures closed mixed, consolidating ahead of the week’s widespread direct business and Friday’s USDA Cattle on Feed report. December live was down $1.25 at $220.02 and February was $.92 lower at $220.85. January feeders were $.22 lower at $326.05 and March was down $.15 at $318.40. Live cattle futures saw weakness into the Tuesday close, down 50 cents to $1.25. Cash trade has yet to be reported this week, with last week at $225-227 across the country, with a few at $228 in the South. Some late Northern sales were $218-222. Feeder cattle futures were mixed...
