Carr wrests mayor's seat from Frealing

The 2025 general election was not the first time Chad-Alan Carr and Rita Frealing have faced off as candidates for mayor of Gettysburg. It wasn’t even the first time this year.

Election Results: Carr Wins Gettysburg Mayoral Race

Gettysburg Councilmember Chad-Alan Carr (with 913 votes), has defeated incumbent Rita Frealing (736 votes) to become Gettysburg’s next mayor. Carr ran on a platform in which he will cede control of the police department to borough staff.
