Carol Vorderman Demands Apology From 'Coward' After Growing up in 'Abject Poverty'
Vorderman said the candidate should apologize after Hope Not Hate revealed he replied to a post with graphic sexual language and a laughing emoji.
On Monday, Welsh broadcaster Carol Vorderman demanded an apology from Reform UK candidate Robert Kenyon over offensive social media posts, branding him 'cowardly' for lewd comments made on a now-deleted X account.
Campaign group Hope Not Hate revealed that shortly after Kenyon's nomination for the Makerfield by-election, he had responded on Christmas Eve 2021 to graphic sexual comments about Vorderman, writing 'He's only saying what we're all thinking' with a thumbs up emoji.
Vorderman rejected Reform's defense, telling The Mirror: 'No, I'm sorry, Kenyon isn't an ordinary man. He's a cowardly man which is why he deleted one of his social media accounts.' She emphasized public comments on public platforms constitute abuse.
Reform UK MP Danny Kruger described the comments as 'inappropriate' but suggested they were private remarks, telling BBC Radio 4's Today programme that social media users 'use it as if they are chatting to their friends in the park.'
Vorderman's activism reflects her broader political role, having encouraged tactical voting in 2024 to 'get the Tories out' and previously criticized Reform UK and Nigel Farage's approach to Wales ahead of the Senedd election.
