Carney calls for expanded trade with Caribbean at Commonwealth leaders meeting
Carney said Canada and the Caribbean have only begun to tap their trade potential as he met Commonwealth leaders and promoted stronger ties.
Prime Minister Mark Carney urged Commonwealth leaders to expand Canada’s trade with Caribbean nations, saying current trade only “scratches the surface” of what is possible.
Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand joined Carney at the breakfast, which was attended by leaders from Caribbean countries.
Officials described the Commonwealth meeting as an opportunity for Canada to expand trade and investment with member countries.
