On July 3, the Archdiocese of Krakow established a special commission to address cases of sexual abuse of adults by clergy. This commission addresses individuals "who were harmed as adults in a situation of vulnerability or dependence." It was chaired by Dr. Marek Lasota.
The Metropolitan of Kraków didn't wait for the national commission, long announced by the Episcopate. He appointed his own committee of specialists but limited the scope of its research. We learned why.
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Krakow, Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, has appointed a special commission to investigate cases of sexual abuse of vulnerable or dependent adults within the Archdiocese of Krakow. The work will cover the period since 1945, and will result in a report with recommendations for protecting those vulnerable to abuse.
On July 3rd of this year, the Metropolitan of Krakow, Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, established the "Hearing and Clarification" commission, whose aim is to investigate the phenomenon of sexual abuse of adults in situations of vulnerability or dependence in the institutional Church within the Archdiocese of Krakow from 1945 to the present.
