- The strategy targets 100 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030 while seeking electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles to account for more than 70 per cent of new vehicle sales by 2035.
- Officials aim to decarbonize South Korea's five highest-emitting industries including steel while fostering 10 green industries such as SMRs, with the government planning to lead global hydrogen-reduced steel production.
- Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, heading the private-sector consultative body, noted the plan shares investment risks with companies hesitant over technology uncertainty, as Lee emphasized becoming green market architects rather than followers.
