Canary Islands Requests the Government to Declare the Migratory Contingency to Initiate the Transfer of Migrant Minors to Other Communities

The Canary Islands has requested on Wednesday that the government declare the migratory contingency, after the Official Gazette of the State (BOE) has published the royal decree that establishes the ordinary capacity of each autonomous community. Once the contingency has been declared, it will be the Ministry of Youth and Children that will have to approve the declaration, which is expected to go ahead this same Thursday.
The Ministry of Children must adopt this declaration to implement the reform of the Aliens Act, which obliges communities to receive children in territories whose resources triple their capacity, such as the Archipelago or Ceuta.
