Canada Soccer Extends Men's Head Coach Jesse Marsch Through 2030 World Cup
Canada Soccer cited Marsch’s record 12 wins, 12 draws and 5 losses as it extended his deal through the 2030 World Cup.
On Monday, Canada Soccer extended head coach Jesse Marsch's contract through the 2030 FIFA World Cup, securing a four-year commitment as he and the Canadian squad gathered in Charlotte, N.C., for a pre-World Cup training camp.
Since taking the role in 2024, the 53-year-old American compiled a 12-5-12 record, leading Canada to the 2024 Copa America semi-finals before losing 2-0 to Argentina and climbing the team to a program-high 26th in FIFA rankings.
Canada Soccer CEO Kevin Blue praised Marsch's "exceptional" contributions, stating he has "instilled a clear identity and raised the competitive bar," while Marsch declared from camp Monday that Canada will have "the best squad Canada's ever had" — younger, more dynamic, and athletic.
Marsch expressed deep gratitude in a press release, saying "from day one, I've felt a deep connection to this team, to this country" and pledging to continue "helping develop this program for years, and continuing to push this group to the highest level."
Canada launches its World Cup campaign June 12 against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toronto within the expanded 48-team tournament spanning 16 North American cities through July 19, with Marsch now positioned to guide the program toward the 2030 World Cup in Morocco, Portugal and Spain.
