The bill amending the Cameroonian Constitution was submitted for consideration by the National Assembly and the Senate, which met in Congress in Yaoundé from 2 to 5 April. Initiated by Paul Biya, it aims to create a vice-president position.
In Cameroon, a congressional session of the parliament opened on 2 April 2026 in Yaoundé. Deputies and senators have on their table a text on amendments to certain provisions of the Constitution. The content of the changes desired by the Cameroonian presidency, on the initiative, includes the creation of a post of Vice-President of the Republic.
