Water usage in Southern California increased, despite Newsom's call to cut back: data

Gov. Gavin Newsom had asked people in July to voluntarily cut back their water consumption by 15%. But in the three weeks after Newsom’s announcement, residents reduced their water use just 1.8%. Consumption rates in Southern California were even lower, with much of the region's use dropping by just 0.1% overall.
